Holidays Shopping: Tips for 2012 Black Friday Shopping

General Black Friday Shopping MUSTS to successfully win the best deals out there on the big day!

-Research the deals and compare prices! Make a list of what you want and how much you want to spend. Check out decide.com, which uses data to help you decide the best time to buy a certain product.

-Keep your receipts.  With a growing number of stores like Target Corp. offering price matching with certain online rivals like Amazon.com, you may find a better deal later and will have an easier time returning the more expensive item.

-Bring your smartphone: Make sure to bring your smartphone. Best Buy has already announced that they will be price-matching deals for the holidays, so best bring your smartphones to show cashiers how much you're really willing to pay for your new toys! Aside from that, bringing your smartphone will also allow you to check historical prices on the spot helping you decide whether you really are getting a legitimate deal.

 -Go with a “team” so you can split up and grab door busters for each other.

 -Bring snacks to keep your energy level up.

- Know the store hours (and arrive early!) This year is a crazy one for Black Friday store hours, as many retailers are opening earlier to prolong the store's hours on this important shopping day for their bottom lines.

 -Make friends with those that are in line with you…it can be hugely rewarding!

-If you live in a cold weather state (which we do!) dress in layers. Chances are you will be waiting outside at least once.

-High speed, low drag: You want to bring as little as possible into the store so you can have both hands and arms free.

-Dress comfortably, Black Friday isn’t a fashion competition! Trust me, you’re going to be happy you wore your tennis shoes after a few hours of standing in line and shopping.
