Tips for Caring For Your Delicate Eye Area

For many people, the eye area is a real problem. This is one of the first areas to show the signs of aging and is also a problem area for fluid retention.
Here are some tips on caring for the delicate eye area:
* Certain moisturizers should not be applied to the eye area as they cause it to swell up.
* Separate eye creams/gels are a must if you suffer with puffy or aging eyes.
* Hold a metal spoon under cold running water for a few minutes and then gently press it onto the eye area to soothe, cool and reduce swelling.
* Thin cucumber slices are an old remedy, but still a good one for reducing puffiness and soothing tired, sore eyes.
* Hemorrhoid creams containing sharks liver oil and/or yeast applied to the puffy area, are fantastic for reducing swelling.
* Soak used tea bags in cold water for around ten minutes (making sure they are really cool) and place them on the puffy area. Start at the outside of the eye and roll them gently inwards.
* Elevate your head when you sleep to encourage fluid to drain away from the eye area.
* Place a slice of raw potato underneath your eyes. The potassium in them counteracts dark circles.
* Diet, again! Avoid salty foods as these can cause fluid retention.

Tired Eyes

In fact we all are familiar with the eye exercises even paying no attention to it. When we feel our eyes’ tension we try to take a break and to focus our eyes on something pleasant and soothing.

Though there are some scientifically approved eye exercises that can easily turn back your good eyes.

 

Exercise #1

When you feel your eyes getting tired, divert them from the monitor or something you work with. Roll the eyes. Turn them to the left and right, then up and down.

Try to do these exercises for 3-5 minutes.

That’ll be enough to tone the eye muscles up.

Exercise #2

Screw up your eyes and then open them as widely as you can. Do it intensively for 2-3 minutes.

Exercise #3

Fix your eyes on the nose tip and then close them giving them the relaxation period for 2-3 minutes.

Exercise #4

Take turns in winking by your left and right eyes. Practice it for 3 minutes or less. Don’t over do with it.

Exercise #5

Close your eyes and put your forefinger on the closed eyelids. Then massage them producing rolling movements clockwise and counterclockwise. Don’t press the eyeball too hard. All you have to do is light massage.

For that sultry, "come hither" look:

• Start with a base applied to your entire lid to prevent shadow from creasing.
• Then, define your upper lash lines with an eye pencil, working from the outer edges in and blending with a cotton swab.
• Sweep on shadow, using a brush to apply a medium color all over; dust a darker shade onto your creases.
• Highlight the area just under your brows with the lightest shade.
• Redefine your upper lash lines with pencil (don't blend this time) for an extra dose of deep, dark color.
• Curl lashes and then layer on two coats of mascara in rapid succession to complete the effect.

 

Beauty tips # 3: Get big eyes

To make eyes appear larger, apply eyeliner using a darker shade near the top lashes and a lighter shade (in the same color family) on the lower lash line. Don't line eyes all the way around with the same color.
