Valentine Date Ideas Without Breaking The Bank

This Valentine’s Day, we're going to show you that don’t have to break the bank to create memories and have a good time. The memories will last a lot longer than the gourmet chocolate and expensive roses. Keep that in mind as you are planning your Valentine’s Day date and other dates throughout the year!

Be a tourist in your own city.

Find what tourist attractions are in your city and spend the night acting like tourists, which includes taking cheesy pictures! Here is a great website for those living in the greater Boston area http://www.cityofboston.gov/visitors/thingstodo.asp

The Open Road
Just get in the car with your sweetheart and drive! You might spend a little on gas, but you’ll create some lasting memories as you travel to a town you have never visited or a famous landmark. You could also revisit the special places around town where you’ve created fun memories and take pictures together.

Night at the Museum

Two tickets to a local museum usually aren’t too expensive. Learn a little about art or history—and each other! Combine this idea with your home-cooked dinner and a movie or game night, and you’ll have a full day of fun. This website has different museums! http://www.museumsofboston.org/index.php

Try a new sport together.

If you’ve never snowboarded, hit the slopes! It will be so much fun to learn something together and try something new!

Go see a play.

Whether at your local community theater, high school or a big production, there is plenty of entertainment available

Have a coupon date

Only eat or do activities you have coupons for. Try Yipit ,  http://yipit.com/boston/ . This website filters all the coupon sites into one , so instead of going to 3 daily deal sites you would just have to visit one!

Go bowling. To make things a little more difficult, try different styles like only using your opposite hand, "granny" style, eyes closed, etc.

Make indoor s'mores and read campfire stories. If you don't have a gas stove, you could light candles to cook your marshmallows over!

Take some lessons. Try taking a lesson for a couples dance, pottery or a cooking class!

Restaurant hop. Go to a different restaurant for each course of the meal. Make three stops for an appetizer, main course and dessert. Take turns picking where to go!

Have a spa night. Since your husband/significant other probably isn't into manicures or pedicures, you could try massages, bubble baths, etc. You can buy some white towels and robes to make it really official.

Breakin' records. Read through the Guinness Book of World Records together, and find something the two of you could potentially achieve as a couple and then do it together as a cheap date.

Write a bucket list. Make a list of things you want to do before you die and go do one to cross it off the list!

House hunting. Tour some homes and plan out your dream home!

Restaurant at home. Find recipes from some of your favorite recipes online, create a menu
and have a lovely meal at home!

Go to the arcade. Get some quarters and head to your nearest arcade! Play some games and buy prizes with the tickets you win.

Sleek, Straight Hair

The polished look of straightened hair appeals as a modern beauty trend for women of all types and preferences. Straight hair is also recognized for its ease and simplicity. As a popular favorite among many busy females, and those who just cannot spend hours on a daily hairstyle.

GET THE LOOK: Pack up the rollers and toss your brushes. A flat iron lets you cheat your way into perfectly sleek hair in just minutes. Separate hair into sections with a clip. In order to protect yourself from the sweltering straightener, be careful to implement a thermal heat resistant spray or serum before styling. The application of such professional products will protect hair, and manage the desired appealing style.
Starting at the root, glide a fine-tooth comb down a one-inch section, followed by a flatiron. Seal the deal with a misting of shine spray.

INSIDER TRICK: Overslept? If you iron just the hairline, you can get away with the rest of the hair looking a little less perfect.

If you have already have straight hair, consider yourself lucky. Straight hair is one of the most sought after and desired hairstyles to have. Some people pay upwards of $500 to get their hair straightened that last a couple of months. It is also one of the reasons why straight iron sales are a booming industry.

Winter Skin Care Tips

Winter is here! The dramatic change in temperatures may be great on our wardrobe, but not on our faces. Not to worry though, we have some great tips that will keep you looking fresh and radiant no matter what Mother Nature throws your way.
Facials are EXTREMELY important; they’re not just for relaxation and indulgence. Think of facials as a little boost to your daily cleansing routine. Depending on your skin type, facials can help tone down acne flare-ups, reduce redness due to scarring, and brighten and moisturize dull, drab skin. Since winter can bring on dry skin, it’s best to get facials with oxygen additives. Oxygen adds tons of moisture back into the skin, and also reduces the occurrence of acne. If your skin is feeling a little dull, go for something with a Vitamin C additive. Vitamin C helps to brighten the skin, add moisture, and even out skintone (a great solution if you have pigmentation problems).

Do not slack off, because now is the time your skin needs extra help. It’s a good idea to switch it up though (but stick to products in your favorite brand). Summer is great for thick foaming cleansers. Since the heat makes us sweat more, we need something on the heavier side to remove excess oils and dirt. Winter’s wind and cold strips our skin of natural oils that keep us moisturized, so use non-foaming cleansers or instant foam cleansers – they’re lighter and restore moisture. Also, stay away from lighter moisturizers, like gels; use thicker ones, they’ll help your skin stay moisturized all day. Lastly, do not forget sunscreen. I know you can’t see the sun, but trust me, it sees you – so stay protected.

Foundation
 – Skin can be so finicky during this time, which isn’t good for make-up application. Since skin is drier, give your powder or matte foundations a rest and go for regular liquid foundations. Liquid will help combat dryness and keep skin looking radiant. If you have oily skin, don’t worry, you can still use liquid foundation; just be sure to use a great primer and lightly sweep oil reducing translucent powder over foundation.
